AGPA Board Appoints Les Greene, PhD, FAGPA, Journal Editor

The AGPA Board of Directors has appointed Les Greene, PhD, FAGPA, as Editor of the International Journal of Group Psychotherapy. Dr. Greene will assume the duties currently held by William Piper, PhD, CGP, FAGPA, in January 2003, although a transition process has already begun.

Dr. Greene brings with him 10 years of experience serving on the Editorial Board of the Journal. He also serves as Editorial Consultant for several other journals, including Psychotherapy, Group Dynamics, and Therapeutic Communities. Dr. Greene, who holds a PhD from Yale University, is on the staff of the VA Connecticut Healthcare System where he supervises and teaches Yale psychiatry residents and psychology interns in group and individual psychotherapy and psychodiagnostic assessment. In addition, he conducts research in the areas of group psychotherapy, group dynamics and personality disorders. He also maintains a private practice in psychotherapy and organizational consultation.

Dr. Greene plans to carry on the tradition of scholarly and clinical excellence that the Journal has come to represent and to maintain its position as the premier publication for group psychotherapy. In this regard, he is interested in widening the pool of manuscripts that are reviewed for publication and would like to expand the role of the Editorial Consultants by having them more actively encourage and mentor potential contributors to the group psychotherapy literature. He invites members of the AGPA community who are interested in working on the Journal —contributing a manuscript, developing an idea for a special issue, or serving on the Editorial Board—to contact him. He can be reached by phone: 203-562-9214; fax: 203-937-4951; or e-mail: Greene.Les_R@West-Haven.va.gov.
