Group Psychotherapy Social Responsibility Award Endowed and Named in Honor Of Robert H. Klein

The Group Foundation for Advancing Mental Health announced in September 2024 that its annual Social Responsibility Award will be renamed the Robert H. Klein Social Responsibility Award, endowed to honor Robert H. Klein, PhD, ABPP, CGP, AGPA-DLF, a former AGPA President who passed away in 2023. The award recognizes AGPA members, affiliate societies, or affiliated organizations for exceptional community outreach and social justice work benefiting the public. Klein, who received the award in 2020 for his pro bono work and leadership in trauma response, notably post-9/11 as co-chair of AGPA’s Disaster Outreach Task Force, was a dedicated leader, author, and trainer in group psychotherapy. The award, reflecting his commitment to community healing through groups, will next be presented at AGPA Connect in San Francisco, CA, March 3-8, 2025, with nominations due by October 1, 2024.
