The American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) announced its new Board of Directors and officers who will assume their roles at AGPA Connect 2024, held February 26 – March 2 in National Harbor. Lorraine Wodiska, PhD, will take over as AGPA President, bringing decades of experience in psychotherapy and innovative techniques like Ethical Canine Assisted Psychotherapy. Other incoming officers include Leonardo Leiderman as President-Elect, M. Sophia Aguirre as Secretary, and Michelle Collins-Greene as Treasurer. The event’s theme, “Turbulent Times: Using Groups to Overcome Divisions and Foster Engagement,” highlights the growing relevance of group therapy in addressing societal challenges. AGPA continues to emphasize diversity, inclusion, and the healing power of group work.
