AGPA Celebrates 75th Anniversary of the International Journal of Group Psychotherapy

The American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) celebrated the 75th anniversary of its journal, The International Journal of Group Psychotherapy, on January 14, 2025, recognizing its role as a leading resource in group psychotherapy research and practice since 1951. The journal, published quarterly by Taylor & Francis Group, serves as AGPA’s official publication, offering peer-reviewed articles on group therapy theory, practice, research, and training. With an impact factor of 1.5, it reaches a global audience through over 2,000 AGPA members, 21 affiliate societies, and institutional subscriptions via Taylor & Francis Online. Edited by Dominick M. Grundy, PhD, CGP, AGPA-F, and supported by an editorial board of prominent group therapists, the journal has published over 2,500 articles by more than 3,000 authors. AGPA marked the milestone with a symposium at AGPA Connect 2025 in San Francisco, CA, from March 3-8, 2025, and plans to digitize its full archive for broader accessibility, reinforcing its commitment to advancing group psychotherapy.
