The American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) announced on April 15, 2025, the launch of a new series of training manuals to enhance group psychotherapy education, authored by leading experts and published by the AGPA Group Therapy Training and Education Task Force. These manuals, designed for clinicians at all career stages, cover evidence-based practices, group dynamics, and specialized topics such as trauma-informed care and cultural competence. Developed in response to the growing demand for accessible, high-quality training resources, the series aims to address the U.S. mental health crisis by equipping therapists to meet diverse client needs effectively. The manuals are available through AGPA’s website and will be featured at AGPA Connect 2025 in San Francisco, CA, from March 3-8, 2025, aligning with the event’s theme, “Being Seen: The Many Faces of Group,” which emphasizes group therapy’s effectiveness and cost-efficiency in expanding mental health access.
