The Group Foundation for Advancing Mental Health has funded the following studies in recent years.

2026 - “Bridging the Mental Health Gap: Systematic Review of Group Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in ‎Disadvantaged Communities"

Lead Investigator:  Zulkayda Mamat, Ph.D.

This project will comprehensively evaluate the effectiveness of group-based ACT interventions for reducing depression and anxiety symptoms in socioeconomically disadvantaged adults.

2025 - “A Scoping Review of Group Psychotherapy with Migrant Clients”

Lead Investigators: Dr. Shadin Atiyeh and Dr. Tahani Dari

This project will address the the critical need for psychotherapy professionals to adapt their interventions to meet the needs of diverse groups of migrants globally. This need becomes more urgent as the refugee crisis grows amid protracted wars and the effects of climate change.

2023 - "Review of Group Psychotherapy Treatments for Perfectionism"

Lead Investigators:  Dr. Paul L. Hewitt, R. Psych and Cheri L. Marmarosh, Ph.D. ABPP CGP 

This project will undertake a comprehensive review of the literature to determine whether various group treatments for perfectionism that have been proposed and evaluated, are effective and efficacious in the treatment of various components of perfectionism and attendant symptoms and dysfunctions.
