Newly Established Marsha S. Block Endowment Fund Will Support Annual Core Principles of Group Psychotherapy Training

The Group Foundation for Advancing Mental Health has established the Marsha S. Block Endowment Fund to honor Marsha S. Block, CAE, CFRE, who retired in 2021 after 50 years as CEO of the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA), the Group Foundation, and the International Board for Certification of Group Psychotherapists. The fund, part of the Group Foundation’s Education Endowment, will support the annual Core Principles of Group Psychotherapy Training Course, fulfilling the 15-hour requirement for the Certified Group Psychotherapist credential. This initiative reflects Block’s commitment to group therapy training and certification standards, with the first course offered at AGPA Connect 2024 in National Harbor, MD, from February 26 to March 2, 2024. Over 150 donors contributed to the fund, recognizing Block’s decades of dedication to the field.
