The International Board for Certification of Group Psychotherapists announced on March 4, 2025, that the 2025 Harold S. Bernard Group Psychotherapy Training Awards will be presented to Seth Aronson, PsyD, CGP, Thomas Hurster, MSS, LCSW, CGP, AGPA-F, Andy Pojman, EdD, CGP, AGPA-F, Jeanne Bunker, LCSW, CGP, AGPA-F, and Michael P. Frank, MA, LMFT, CGP, AGPA-LF during AGPA Connect 2025 in San Francisco on March 5 at the Tri-Organizational Awards Ceremony. Established in 2001 and endowed by Dr. Harold Bernard, the award honors excellence in group psychotherapy training. The recipients are recognized for their extensive contributions to training, supervision, and education, including leadership in AGPA, publications, international workshops, and promoting diversity and inclusion in group therapy. Their work, spanning child and adolescent therapy, Modern Analytic techniques, and continuing education, has significantly advanced the field. AGPA Connect 2025, themed “Being Seen: The Many Faces of Group,” will attract 1,000 global group therapists to explore effective group techniques, emphasizing the modality’s growing use due to its effectiveness and cost-efficiency.
