Explore the Depth and Breadth of Group Psychotherapy
This collection of scholarly contributions emphasizes clinically-focused articles that bridge established group theory with contemporary treatment models, process dynamics, and therapeutic techniques. It includes original empirical research and personal scholarly narratives that explore key issues in group practice, offering fresh insights and generating hypotheses for future investigation. Systematic reviews of clinical and research literature are also featured, ensuring that both practitioners and researchers remain informed and current in their understanding of group psychotherapy.
In addition, the work highlights interdisciplinary scholarship that connects group psychotherapy with related fields such as pedagogy, social psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, and leadership. Special attention is given to topics relevant to historically underrepresented or marginalized populations, including adaptations of group interventions for these communities. The collection also features reviews of books and videos pertinent to group practice, as well as special issues on critical themes like rupture and repair in group dynamics and social justice in group work.

Evidence-Based Practice
The term “evidence-based practice” is widely used across health disciplines, but what does it mean for practitioners and consumers of group therapy services?
Peer Review and Ethics
Taylor & Francis is committed to peer-review integrity and upholding the highest standards of review. Once your paper has been assessed for suitability by the editor, it will then be double blind peer reviewed by independent, anonymous expert referees. Find out more about what to expect during peer review and read our guidance on publishing ethics.
Preparing Your Paper
- Please include a brief cover letter with your submission.
- Should be written with the following elements in the following order: title page; abstract; keywords; main text introduction, method, results, discussion; acknowledgments; declaration of interest statement; references; appendices (as appropriate); table(s) with caption(s) (on individual pages); figures; figure captions (as a list)
- Full-length articles should contain an unstructured abstract of 125 words or less.
- Read making your article more discoverable, including information on choosing a title and search engine optimization.
- The manuscript must be prepared according to the style outlined in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (Seventh Edition). The names, highest degrees, titles, and professional affiliations of the authors, as well as the address and email address of the corresponding author, should appear on the title (first) page of the manuscript. An abstract not to exceed 125 words comprises the second page for regular articles. Regular articles are normally 25 double-spaced pages not including references, figures, and tables. Brief Reports are normally ten pages. All manuscripts should be double-spaced, including the reference list, and have numbered pages. Authors should avoid sexist language and ensure the confidentiality of information concerning their clients/patients, and their groups, by taking reasonable steps to avoid personally identifiable information, and/or by obtaining the consent of these individuals or groups to publish such material in accordance with the current edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. Please use American spelling style consistently throughout your manuscript.
- De-identifying your manuscript: If you have cited your own work, make sure you’ve referred to your own references in the third person, e.g., write “Smith and Black (2007) have demonstrated,” not “We have previously demonstrated (Smith & Black, 2007).” (If you’re unable to avoid referring to self-cited work in the first person, then delete the author names, or other identifying information (such as your institution) and replace it with [author(s)] in the text. In the reference list, delete the citation, and use a placeholder [author(s)].) References should be listed in a separate section at the end of the main text. All references in the list should be ordered alphabetically by the first author’s surname.
- In the case of research manuscripts, investigators must have complied with APA ethical standards of professional conduct in terms of their scientific, educational or professional roles.
