Developing Healthy Communities

From homes to schools to neighborhoods to workplaces, people live their lives in groups. Recent research in the social sciences and neurosciences are teaching us some profound facts about the importance of groups in individual’s lives. People with strong group support systems live longer, are less likely to become mentally or physically ill and are more resilient.

The American Group Psychotherapy Association as part of its mission provides intervention and outreach to diverse communities nationally and internationally based on group psychotherapy principles and established protocols, believing in the power of groups to effect change that contributes to societal strength and well-being.
